A Jamming-Resilient and Scalable Broadcasting Algorithm for Multiple Access Channel Networks

چکیده
Multiple access channel (MAC) networks use a broadcasting algorithm called the Binary Exponential Backoff (BEB) to mediate shared communication by competing nodes and resolve their collisions. While BEB achieves fair throughput average packet latency in jamming-free environments relatively small networks, its performance noticeably degrades when network is exposed jamming or size increases. This paper presents an alternative K-tuple Full Withholding (KTFW), which significantly increases MAC networks’ resilience attacks growth. Through simulation, we compare KTFW with both Queue (QB), efficient high-throughput algorithm. We three approaches against two different traffic injection models, each approximating environment type. Our results show that higher lower than QB algorithms. The also outperforms for larger without jamming.

A Jamming-resilient Algorithm for Self-triggered Network Coordination
The issue of cyber-security has become ever more prevalent in the analysis and design of cyber-physical systems. In this paper, we investigate self-triggered consensus networks in the presence of communication failures caused by Denialof-Service (DoS) attacks. A general framework is considered in which the network links can fail independent of each other. By introducing a notion of Persistency-...
متن کاملModeling of Channel Jamming in Dynamic Spectrum Access Networks
Dynamic Spectrum Access (DSA) network is envisioned as a promising candidate to significantly improve the spectrum utilization. Due to its specific features of the DSA, however, this network is more vulnerable to security attacks than the traditional wireless networks. And channel jamming is a one of main threats to DSA networks. So far, limited works have been done in mathematical and formal m...
متن کاملMulti-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey
Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

متن کاملCompromise-Resilient Anti-jamming for Wireless Sensor Networks
Jamming is a kind of Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack in which an adversary purposefully emits radio frequency signals to corrupt wireless transmissions. Thus, the communications among normal sensor nodes become difficult or even impossible. Although some research has been conducted on countering jamming attacks, few works considered jamming by insiders. Here, an attacker first compromises some l...
